The Ekomark © certification process consists of several stages. These steps can be briefly described as follows:
- Submission of application: When the application is received from the company, a preliminary assessment is made. The product group into which the product belongs and the criteria for this product is determined. This process is explained in Ekomark © Certification Application Procedure.
- Signing of the contract: If there is no nonconformity after the preliminary assessment, the contract is made with the company requesting certification. This process is explained in Ekomark © Certification Contract Procedure.
- Sample acceptance: A sample is taken from the product for testing and analysis studies of the product to be certified. This process is described in Ekomark © Certification Sample Acceptance Procedure.
- Carrying out tests: Samples taken from the product are sent to competent and accredited laboratories operating in accordance with the relevant standards and tested and analyzed. This process is described in the Ekomark © Certification Test Procedure.
- Approval of the product: After the test and analysis studies are completed and the sample is proved to meet the criteria, the product is approved. This process is explained in Ekomark © Certification Approval Procedure.
- Permission to use the Ekomark © Tag: in the final stage of the process, the company is given the permission to use the Ekomark © Tag for use in promotional and marketing activities. This process is described in the Ekomark © Certification Label Use Permit Procedure.
