In addition, a wide variety of chemicals are used. Waste diversity and quantity is very high. Solid and liquid wastes cause air emissions. It also harms the environment. A number of chemicals released to nature cause poisoning. Toxic waste released into the water destroys the oxygen in the water, which poses a vital threat to both humans and aquatic organisms. However, not only the textile sector but also all sectors have a share in this negative development.
In the European Union countries, which are very important markets for exportation of our country, as the importance given to environment and human health increased, production of harmless products in terms of environment and health started to gain importance. Many legal arrangements have been made in this direction in the European Union and our country is making changes in its own legal arrangements within the scope of harmonization studies.
In this context, 2000 has the Council of Europe Directive 1980 / 2000 (EC). The integration of the environmental label system into our country has started and the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has been designated as the authorized institution. However, environmental law has not yet been enacted. Environmental labeling system has not yet been implemented in our country.
