EN 15593 is an internationally recognized standard for hygiene management in the food packaging industry. It specifies the requirements for food packaging suppliers and manufacturers, including storage and transportation. This standard is based on hazard analysis and risk assessment and measures for each level in the production process, specifying the appropriate levels of control points. The requirements are so formulated that they can be easily integrated into management systems such as ISO 9001 and ISO 22000, although these guidelines can also be used as independent hygiene management systems.

It has already received a general acceptance in Europe. The focus is primarily on first level packaging, but it can also be applied to other packaging components and suppliers of packaging manufacturers.

 

For producers at all stages of food, it is necessary to produce, distribute, pack and sell food so that food safety and health is not threatened. At this point, food must be packaged, packaged and delivered safely to users within the framework of hygiene.
