- Organization must have a written product recall / withdrawal procedure
- The procedure should include the name of the person (s) performing the withdrawal, their responsibilities, how to identify the retracted product, where to hold it and how to control it, how to evaluate the other products considered to be affected, and test the effectiveness of the withdrawal procedure.
- Recalled product must be defined: Production date, code, distribution area, reason for withdrawal, quantity, where it was withdrawn,
- Signs related to coding and their meaning should be known
- Codes must be legible
- For the possibility of withdrawal, the code or lot no. Records should be kept on the basis of which customers should distribute the product
- The product must have distribution records
