WHAT IS ISO 14001

Iso 14001 is Environmental Management Certification. In other words, continuing activities in a production area; It includes the diversity of air, soil, water and natural resources, plants and animals and humans and their association with each other. It is a systematic interaction that allows it to be applied by paying attention to the effects around it during the period from the first stage of production to the delivery to the consumer.

Iso 14001 is a universal standard of the process of monitoring an organization's efforts towards its environment and in another sense of forward-looking steps. Increasing world population, the pleasure and the speed of progress brought about by technological rapid progress, the shortening of human life, the destruction of the ecological environment, loud and violent noises, inadequate application, lack of knowledge and the factors that negatively affect more than one environment to be added have recently and are the main factors that threaten the living standards. Environmental pollution and industrial development, which has become a problem that clearly disturbs human beings as a result of the time passed in the last half, starting from the year 2000, has started to make itself felt day by day. At first, environmental pollution, which was described as only environmental pollution, without taking an international form and having a local character, increased rapidly day by day and became a world problem by getting rid of the local feature.

As a result of these various researches, Iso 14000 standards, the subject of preventing environmental damage, were collected in the International Standards Organization. In order to prevent these negativities and to eliminate or minimize the damage caused by the environmental factor, environmental standards have started to be expressed more than before and national and international legal arrangements have been made to address the environment. The series published by the International Standards Organization (ISO), which aims to prevent the environment from harming external factors, is called ISO 14000. These series offer as a condition that the efforts of the production industries against the environmental factor are examined, the deficiencies are completed and all legal regulations related to environmental factors are complied with. Compared to this, living areas of living things are narrowing, the impact of natural factors on the environment is increasing day by day, and they pose a threat to life and quality of life.

It is now acknowledged that the resources of our world, which is getting smaller every day, is not infinite and that the environmental effects of products and activities are not local and regional, but globally. This consciousness has brought with it the need to control the environmental impacts with market forces rather than legal practices.

Being present in the global market is measured by the value and respect given to human beings. Today's consumer demands the respect and needs of the consumers at the highest level, as well as respecting the environment and the world in which he lives, respecting him and questioning this in the market.

These developments revealed the fact that there is a need for management systems that will enable businesses to keep their interactions with the environment under control and to continuously improve their environmental activities and achievements. Environment, which is one of the most important issues in integration with the European Union; In addition, the audits carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry include subjects parallel to the requirements of this standard.

The management system developed for systematically reducing and, if possible, eliminating the damages and damages of the enterprises to the environment is called the Environmental Management System.

ISO 14001. The Environmental Management System is a management model established at the base of risk analyzes, in order to reduce the use of natural resources and minimize damages to soil, water and air.

It is a series of standards published by the International Organization for Standardization, which describes the establishment of a request that minimizes the damage to the environment by determining the environmental factors at every stage of the process starting from the raw material to the final product and presenting it to the customers. .

ISO 14000 is a system standard, not a product standard, and it deals with how it is produced, rather than what is produced. It is based on monitoring and continuous improvement of environmental performance. It stipulates compliance with the conditions defined by the relevant legislation and laws regarding environmental factors.
