The characteristics of software processes are those that give a measure of process capability and are evaluated on a success scale. In other words, the quality of each process determines one aspect of its ability to manage that process and its ability to improve its effectiveness in order to achieve its goal. In this case, process improvement requirements arise on the one hand while the software processes are evaluated, and on the other hand the competencies of the processes are determined. Determining the adequacy of the processes demonstrates that the processes are appropriate, but may also reveal process improvement needs. Process improvement studies determine the change in the organization.
As a result, process evaluation studies are carried out in a cycle. The first step of this cycle creates improvement requirements. Improvement requirements should comply with the vision of the organization. At the same time, the infrastructure should be ready for improvement works. After that, the specifications of change will be put forward, strategies and priorities will be determined, a process transition period will be planned, implementation will be initiated, it will be ensured that it is compatible with the targets and be measurable, then an evaluation will be made within the organization and a general evaluation report will be prepared with the results. If the results require a new process improvement, this cycle will be repeated from the beginning.
