Periodical Tests and Inspection of Special Boilers in Pressure Vessels (Fabric Dyeing Boiler, Soup Boiler)

Hydrostatic testing is essential for pressure vessels. These tests are carried out with 1,5 times the operating pressure and for periods not exceeding one year, unless otherwise specified in the standards. However, non-destructive testing methods specified in the standards may also be applied instead of hydrostatic testing in pressure vessels where hydrostatic testing is not possible due to the nature of the work equipment and the mandatory requirements arising from the operation. In this case, it shall be indicated in the periodic control reports to be issued together with the justification.

Periodic inspections of pressure vessels and installations, Pressure Equipment Regulations published in the Official Gazette dated 22 / 1 / 2007 and 26411, Portable Pressure Equipment Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 31 / 12 and 2012 / 28514 / 30 and 12, published in the Official Gazette of the Simple Pressure Doors and the provisions of this Regulation without prejudice to the provisions of the relevant provisions of the relevant standards are made.

Periodic inspections of pressure vessels and installations are performed by mechanical engineers and mechanical technicians or high technicians. If the periodic inspections are carried out by non-destructive testing methods, these inspections may only be carried out by engineers trained in accordance with the TS EN 473 standard and by technicians or technicians who have received the same training.

In general, all hot water boilers, regardless of the purpose they are used for, must undergo the necessary tests and controls in the following cases:

  • When the production is completed in the enterprise producing boilers
  • Immediately after installation in the plant where the boilers will be used
  • After any modification, repair or improvement work is done on the boilers used in the enterprise
  • Boilers remaining unused for at least three months
  • Finally, in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on Health and Safety in the Use of Work Equipment

The situation is not different in fabric dyeing boilers used in textile sector or soup boilers used in food sector. As a result, these boilers are also hot water boilers used under high temperatures and are accepted as pressure vessel.

In accordance with the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment, all special boilers covered by pressure vessels and installations must be inspected by authorized persons and organizations at least once a year.

In the textile industry, galvanized steel paint boilers are generally used for non-corrosive paint materials. The steel covers of these boilers are pressed and have cast steel clamps. Stainless steel paint boilers are more suitable for use with water based paint materials and all metal parts are made of stainless steel.

Our company carries out periodic inspections and inspections of fabric dyeing boilers used in textile sector or soup boilers used in food sector in accordance with the regular regulations of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards published by domestic and foreign institutions. A few standards considered in these studies are:

  • TS 497 Boilers - Steel (welded)
  • TS EN 12952-6 Water tube boilers and auxiliary installations - Part 6: Inspection during manufacture, documentation and marking of pressure-exposed parts.
  • TS EN 12952-7 Water pipe boilers and auxiliary installations - Part 7: Requirements for boiler equipment
  • TS EN 12952-3 Water pipe boilers and auxiliary installations - Part 3: Design and calculation of pressure-exposed parts
