Leakage Current Measurements
The leakage current cannot be removed from the electrical installation due to the high ground resistance or the connection of the cable connected to the ground. In such cases, leakage current starts to pose a threat to human life. If the leakage exceeds 30 mA, it can cause irreversible problems.
The leakage current relay is a fuse-type relay that prevents potential disasters by disconnecting the main connection when the leakage current in the installation cannot be discharged to the ground line due to any problems. The most dangerous and large leakage currents in electrical systems. Leakage currents sometimes occur because the ground line resistance is too high, and sometimes the cables connected to the ground line come into contact with another location due to insulation faults. If leakage currents are not kept away from the electrical system, they create hazards for human health and property safety. The leakage current must not exceed 30 mA. The presence of such a danger is determined by the leakage current relay to be installed in the system. The leakage current relay is used to detect faulty currents resulting from isolation faults and to disconnect the connected circuit if the leakage current value exceeds a certain value. In general, the residual current relays perform the function of protecting human life in the 30 mA and the system in the 300 mA. According to world standards, leakage current relays are produced between 30 mA and 300 mA values.

The leakage current relay operates by acting on the principle that the current passing through it is equal to the currents which are activated and deactivated. If the currents entering and leaving the residual current relay are equal, then no magnetic current is generated. Otherwise, a difference occurs as a result of current imbalance. The leakage current relay senses this difference and cuts the energy on the electrical system in a very short time. In this way, the creation of leakage current is prevented.

In fact, in an electrical installation, fuses are also part of the security system. Both are used for protection, but both systems separate because they perform the protection function in different ways. For example, the fuses are manufactured as 10A, 16A or 32A and there is no opening condition until the current passing through the circuit reaches a certain current value that the fuse meets. Therefore, it can not fully meet the health of life. However, the leakage current relays operate on the basis of equal current and output current and close the circuit when the current difference is 30 mA.

Our company conducts electrical leakage measurements in accordance with the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations within the framework of electrical safety inspections.
