High Voltage Measurements

The most important application area of ​​high voltage is that high voltage electrical energy is transported to the distances from the power plant. Special high-voltage equipment such as power transformers, cables, capacitors, insulators and the like is needed to carry energy at high voltage. In order to ensure reliable energy distribution, high-voltage devices must also undergo acceptable tests. These tests must be carried out at high impact voltages in accordance with local and foreign test standards. However, traceability is provided in this way.

In high voltage tests and measurements, voltage and current measurements cannot be performed using conventional measuring devices due to the high amplitude value. These measurements become even more difficult, since the waveform and time parameters of the high voltage signal must also be controlled.

The required features of the measurement systems to be used in high voltage measurements are detailed in IEC 60060-2 standard. All tests and controls on high voltage measurement systems include AC, DC and pulse high voltage measurement systems. The test and inspection organizations record the values ​​obtained at the end of the tests and controls and assess the compatibility of the system according to the TS EN 60060-2 standard.

The electromechanical industry sector in our country mainly uses test systems, AC and pulse high voltage production and measurement systems. However, manufacturers with high-voltage test laboratories are required to complete their accreditation from the Turkish Accreditation Agency TÜRCERT or a similar organization in accordance with the ISO / IEC 17025 standard.
