Scrapers are just one of dozens of heavy-duty machines. Especially in road construction works, it is used to distribute the material on the road properly and equally. It is also used in filling works, opening irrigation channels, leveling and removing the upper layer in mines. In various excavation works, among heavy-duty machines such as excavators, loaders and dozers, scrapers also have a lot of work.
Some scrapers are used for scraping the soil into thin layers and spreading it to a certain distance. They are usually towed by a tractor with a crawler or rubber wheel. There are also varieties taken by dozers. Generally used in road or airport constructions for filling and leveling works.
Since scrapers are heavy duty machines, employees need to be healthy and safe in terms of safety of life and property. Therefore, periodic checks and examinations are mandatory. The Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment contains the minimum requirements for the health and safety of the construction machinery and equipment used in the workplace. Details of the Annex to this Regulation, Maintenance, Repair and Periodic Inspection (Annex 3) are provided. In any case, however, regular inspections of the scrapers are required at least once a year.

Periodic inspections of construction equipment that are not included in the road traffic inspection due to not being used on the highway plays an important role in preventing occupational accidents.
