These equipment are work tools that may be under constant control and supervision due to their close proximity to the employees and their use. In our country, as a result of misuse of lifting and transmission vehicles, many incidents of sad accidents occur.
Conveyor loads and materials from the ground or air is the system that continuously carries. The mechanism of the conveyor belt system moves continuously. The areas of use are the places that ensure the rapid progress of the works that are continuously worked. For example;
- Airports (baggage transport).
- Transporting grain in silos.
- Coal transport in mines.
- Transporting sprouts in mines.
- Food packaging and manufacturing places.
- Everywhere automation system is used.
The necessity of regular inspection and inspection of lifting and conveying machinery is required by the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment. In the annex of this Regulation entitled Maintenance, Repair and Periodic Inspections (Annex 3), there are general explanations, what are the lifting and transmission equipment, their control periods and the control criteria to be considered in the controls and the related standards.
Accordingly, the control of various conveyors and belt conveyors classified as lifting and conveying machines is based on the fact that if no other criteria are stipulated in the relevant standards, the declared load must lift at least the 1,25 level, be able to hold this load safely and have appropriate braking systems.
The relevant standards include appropriate technical measures to eliminate or mitigate risks arising from significant hazards. If there is no standard to apply, then the control criteria set by the manufacturer and, of course, the legal regulations in force must be taken into account.
