Jib Crane Inspection

Jib cranes are generally used where ceiling crane installation is not possible. It is fixed by a profile parallel to the ground on the pipe fixed to a fixed ground. The mechanical and electrical hoist mounted on the profile is mounted on the crane monorail hoist and load carrying process is performed along the area where the hoist moves.

Periodic control of jib cranes which are used in factories and facilities and perform circularly lifting and conveying activities such as calipers should be periodically inspected at least once a year in accordance with the related regulation and in cases where there is no period specified in the standards referred to in this regulation. Jib cranes are grouped under two main headings. These are column type jib cranes and hanging / wall type jib cranes. Column type jib cranes are divided into three among themselves. The first one is motorized and has a maximum 360 degree rotary type. Their capacity varies between 250 kilograms and 5000 kilograms. The second is manual maximum 270 degree rotary jib cranes. Their capacity varies between 250 kilograms and 5000 kilograms. The third is the manual maximum 270 degree rotary jib cranes with top support. Due to its rotating type, it allows working in 270 degree diameter.

The aim of the Jib Crane Periodic Controls is to determine the minimum requirements for health and safety related to the use of work equipment in the workplace. In cases where the safety of the work equipment depends on the installation and installation conditions, the equipment must be inspected by persons authorized to carry out periodic checks after the installation of the equipment and before its first use and at each change of location. A document is issued showing that it is installed correctly and works safely.
