Risk management

Risk management is defined as the risk management of all the studies carried out in order to review the current situation of a project, to identify the situations posing a danger to the future of this project and to take the necessary measures to prevent them. Risk management studies aim to determine the measures to be taken to minimize the possibility of undesired situations.

On a project basis, the risks can be listed as follows: risk of project failure, risk of project overrun, risk of deficiencies at the end of the project, ie the risk that the customer needs have not been fully identified, or the risk of difficulties during the execution of the project.

In project-based studies, it is important to classify the risks encountered in terms of mitigating the effects of risks for the enterprise. Risks can be caused, for example, by strategic decisions, because of the technical characteristics of the project, because of the project organization, because customer requirements have changed or because of lack of planning and control.

Risks should be listed according to their significance levels, taking into account the probability of occurrence of identified risks and their level of impact on the project. This study, called risk assessment, should be carried out at regular intervals. This study evaluates the situation as of the moment and examines the time-dependent development of risk factors.

In short, risk is the positive or negative effects of internal and external factors, which may occur in the future, on the realization of the goals and objectives of the enterprises. In fact, risk doesn't mean just getting hurt. The positive aspects of risk and the possible gains caused by them can create opportunities. The negative aspects of risk and the losses they cause are threats.

Risk management is a cycle. Risks are identified, evaluated, necessary measures are taken, risks are reviewed and reported. There is continuous monitoring between these stages and this cycle is repeated without stopping. Risk management activities include achieving targets, making decisions, capturing service standards, effective resource management, preventing losses, complying with legal regulations and gaining reputation for the enterprise.
