Electromagnetic Environment Measurements

In parallel with the rapid developments in technology and industry, the need for electrical energy and the use of electrical energy are increasing. However, all electric vehicles create electromagnetic fields at various frequencies depending on the amount of voltage and current they use. Radio and televisions, electric shavers, microwave ovens, computer screens, photocopiers, cordless phones and many other electric tools used in daily life are examples. As such, people, animals, plants, in short, the entire environment is under the influence of the electromagnetic field. Noise, dust, light, falling from height, fire, etc. within the scope of occupational health and safety environment measurements. parameters are conventionally measured. With the regulation named 2013/35 / EU published in the European Union, the electrical field and magnetic field that the personnel are exposed to in the working environment have also been one of the parameters to be measured. Below you can find photos of the electromagnetic field measurement service we perform in the office of an IT company in Istanbul. The effect of wi-fi wireless networks in the office environment, the effect of the electrical panels and the server in the IT room were measured. In addition, the base station effect from outside has been taken into account in electromagnetic radiation measurements.

Electromagnetic pollution is an issue to be considered because it is not visible to the eye and its effects do not occur immediately. But electromagnetic pollution is not enough attention. Despite such disregard, people and the environment are exposed to electromagnetic waves at different frequencies, which is increasing every day.

An electromagnetic field is an effect that electrically charged substances emit to their environment and exert a force on other charged materials. Electromagnetic fields are formed by the combination of electric and magnetic fields. If the frequency rises, the wavelength becomes shorter and the energy emitted increases.

There are natural electric and electromagnetic fields on the earth. However, the electrical and electromagnetic fields resulting from the electrical and electronic devices produced on this basis are now covering the whole environment. For example, X-ray devices emit X-rays. Various electrical sockets are low frequency electromagnetic wave sources. Radio and television antennas, mobile telephone stations and data transmission lines emit high frequency radio waves. Therefore, electromagnetic environment measurements have become increasingly important.

Our company performs electromagnetic environment measurements with a strong staff and technical infrastructure in accordance with the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations. A few standards considered in these studies are:

  • TS EN 55014-2 Electromagnetic compatibility - Requirements for household and similar appliances, electrical appliances and similar devices - Part 2: Immunity - Product family standard
  • TS EN 61204-3 Low voltage power supplies with DA output - Part 3: Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • TS EN 61543 Electromagnetic compatibility - Residual current protective devices (RCD) - Used in homes and similar places

Certification

The firm, which provides auditing, supervision and certification services to internationally recognized standards, also provides periodic inspection, testing and control services.
