RoHS Tests

WHAT IS ROHS?

RoHS is a directive that requires no substances on electronic cards or materials. English Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive consists of the initials of the word.

27 2003 January 2002-95-EC adopted by the Council of Europe on harmful substances harmful substances in electronic products that restrict the use of certain harmful elements. It prohibits the use of substances harmful to human health by lead, cadmium, mercury and bromide compounds.

ELEMENTS AND COMPOSITIONS PROVIDED UNDER ROHS

     These substances are;

  • LEAD (Pb)
  • CIVA (hg)
  • KADMIUM (Cd)
  • CHROME IV (Cr + 6)
  • Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).

     Negative effects;

  • Human health damages (In pregnant women cause miscarriage, can cause healthy cells to die and cause cancer).
  • Environmental health effects: Heavy metal class elements and destructive compounds are not able to be recycled because of uncontrolled release to the environment can cause serious damage.
  • This is due to the fact that these tools and electronic cards are used in electronic and electrical devices, which cause the thermal particles to be mixed with the thermal effects of poisonous particles under heat pressure. Nonetheless, products with human contact (eg rubber flooring materials, etc.) are also covered by RoHS.
  • Your obligation is to ensure that these substances do not exceed the limits of RoHS which are either 0.1% or 1,000ppm (cadmium-exclusion, XMUMX% or 0.01ppm limit).

With the RoHS directive published in European Union countries, the use of harmful substances in electrical and electronic devices has been restricted. The RoHS directive requires that no hazardous or hazardous elements or chemicals are used in electrical and electronic products or used within the limits shown. Since 2003, all electrical and electronic devices have restricted the use of the elements and chemicals mentioned in the directive. In this way, it is aimed to protect human health and natural environment.

Although the RoHS directive has been published for the European Union countries, it has been accepted all over the world and the manufacturers all over the world are trying to comply with these directive principles. Because it is not possible to send electrical devices which do not provide this conformity to European Union countries.

On the other hand, 2008 in our country, the Regulation on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment is published based on the said directive. This aspect is known briefly as EEE Regulation. Companies producing electrical and electronic goods receive services from independent and impartial inspection and inspection bodies to prove that their products conform to this standard.

The following are the elements of the RoHS tests whose names and maximum values are allowed:

  • Lead (Pb): percent 0.1 ppm
  • Mercury (Hg): percent 0.1 ppm
  • Cadmium (Cd): percent 0.01 ppm
  • Plus 6 chrome (Cr6 +): percent 0.1 ppm
  • Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB): percent 0.1 ppm
  • Polybrominated biphenyl ether (PBDE): percent 0.1 ppm

The electrical devices that use these elements are dangerous for both the natural environment and human health. If these elements have to be used, they must be at least within the specified limits.

The electrical and electronic devices to be tested for RoHS include: large household appliances, small appliances, computer technologies and telecommunications articles, consumer goods, lighting devices (including bulbs and chandeliers), electrical and electronic devices, toys, recreational and sports equipment, medical devices, monitoring and control instruments, automatic distributors and other electrical and electronic equipment not covered by these categories.

Within the scope of electrical testing, our company carries out RoHS tests with a strong staff and technical infrastructure, in accordance with relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by local and foreign institutions.
