Flue Gas Measurements

Emission measurements include the measurement of exhaust gases, which occur in various ways and are generally released into the air through the chimney. The Regulation on the Control of Industrial Air Pollution, issued by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in 2009, has legally imposed emission limits on industrial plants in this respect and all facilities are obliged to keep their emissions under control in order to stay within these limits. In addition, depending on the area of activity and size of the atmosphere must declare pollutant properties. The validity period of the emission measurement reports carried out in the authorized laboratories is two years.

Direct measurement (with measuring instrument) (combustion gases, Total Volatile Organic Compounds, etc.)

Sampling from the chimney (laboratory analysis of samples by taking powder, heavy metals, fluorine, chlorine, PAH, dioxin-furan)

Before the measurement, the facility to be measured should be visited with the customer authorities, and the final agreement should be reached on the number of measurement points and measurement points with the facility authorities on the sampling plan of the experimental studies planned to be performed in the facility.

Before starting work, information should be obtained about occupational health and safety practices carried out at the facility and explosive, flammable and combustible materials, if any. In case of an accident, the name and contact numbers of the occupational safety officer of the facility should be provided for immediate access.

Taking necessary safety measures according to the location of the measuring point

If the sampling points are equipped with a platform, the platform width must be sufficiently wide to allow easy measurements.

During the experiments, observations of environmental factors should be recorded and the conditions that may have an impact on the measurement results should be recorded.

All kinds of human and machine activities should be prevented in areas that may affect the measurement.

This regulation was adopted in order to control emissions in the form of soot, smoke, gas, steam, dust and aerosol released to the air as a result of the activities carried out in various industrial and energy production facilities and to prevent pollution that threatens human health and the protection of nature.

Flue gas analysis of the central heating and furnace systems in residential and industrial facilities is carried out on values such as oxygen, carbon monoxide (CO) and temperature. In fact, the flue gas measurements made cover a wide range of measurements. Main measurements include:

  • Measurement of combustion gases emissions (such as oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbo dioxide, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and nitrogen dioxide)
  • Particle (powder) measurement by gravimetric method
  • Measurement of total volatile organic gas (VOC) emissions
  • Determination of mass flow rate of gases and powders
  • Measurement of soot by color comparison
  • Flue gas temperature measurements
  • Determination of moisture value in flue gas
  • Heavy metal measurements
  • Measurement of dioxin and furan
  • Formaldehyde measurement
  • Cyanide sampling
  • Sulfuric acid sampling
  • Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) sampling
  • Determination of combustion efficiency in the process

Various flue gas measurements are made in authorized laboratories. In this context, our company carries out flue gas measurements within the scope of gas measurements. In these studies, the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with.

In the meantime, our company has been accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK) according to the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard and the test, measurement, analysis, inspection and inspection procedures and reports are accepted as valid in special and official audits.

Certification

The firm, which provides auditing, supervision and certification services to internationally recognized standards, also provides periodic inspection, testing and control services.
