Air pollution is the concentration of particulates and other harmful substances in the air, which cause adverse effects on humans and the ecosystem. These particles are intensely present in the air, damaging living things. Particles in the atmosphere in the form of particles or small molecules, gas emissions solid or liquid. A classification system called the Air Quality Index is now widely used all over the world. This system classifies air quality as good, medium, bad or dangerous depending on the concentration of pollutants in the air. The methods and criteria used to calculate this index in various countries have been determined in accordance with the countries' own air quality standards. The Air Quality Index uses different definitions and colors in certain categories and is regulated separately for all pollutants measured. In our country, National Air Quality Index has been prepared by adapting to national legal regulations and limit values. This index determines air quality based on five main pollutants: particulate matter (PM10), carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and ozone (O3).
