O2 (Oxygen) Measurements

In nature, oxygen exists as O2 molecules. Very high energy is required to break down the bond in the oxygen gas molecule. Therefore, reactions involving oxygen are slow and require very high temperatures. Oxygen is a gas that does not have color and odor under normal conditions. When cooled, it becomes a blue liquid. Oxygen gas is soluble in water under normal conditions and the amount of water soluble is sufficient for the living organisms to survive. When the water cools too much, the amount of oxygen dissolved in the water increases.

21 percent oxygen in the atmosphere. The source of oxygen is the free oxygen produced by photosynthesis. Plankton in the sea and plants on land provide oxygen to the atmosphere. Oxygen is an essential element for the survival of all breathing organisms. Oxygen reaching the lungs through the respiratory tract combines with hemoglobin in the blood to form a compound. This compound disperses all the cells in the body and burns protein and fats. In this way, the energy required for living things is provided. In short, the body needs oxygen to produce energy.

For this reason, it is very important to measure the oxygen level and keep it in compliance with the standards especially in the workplaces operating in confined spaces. For human health, the oxygen level in the confined space should be around 21 percent. This value is normal for human health and it is safe to be in this environment. Oxygen level above this value means that the environment is rich in oxygen. Oxygen levels below this level cause problems such as breathing disorders, decision-making difficulties, wrong decision making, and difficulty in breathing, and even cause sudden death when 11 level decreases. In this respect, measurements taken by authorized laboratories are extremely important.

Our company performs oxygen (O2) measurements within the scope of gas measurements. In these studies, the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations are complied with.

Meanwhile, our organization has been accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRCERT) in accordance with the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 standard, and the test, measurement, analysis, control and inspection procedures and reports issued are deemed valid for private and official audits.
