TÜRCERT Starts Standardization Studies nationwide

The dizzying developments in every field, especially in technology, make social life more and more complex. At the core of standardization studies lies the aim of eliminating this complexity. In many issues, it is necessary to determine some principles, criteria and conditions. In general, standardization studies are based on a simplification process, and these studies require the participation and cooperation of all relevant parties. The determined standards are accepted to the extent that they are published and applied. Because a standard is the job of determining the most accurate and reliable one among various alternatives.

Naturally, however, standards are not permanent and need to be renewed in accordance with developments. Standards should be reconsidered, evaluated and revised if necessary, and must be adapted to the current conditions.

Theoretically, standardization studies are the processes of all interested parties coming together to determine a set of criteria, set rules, determine conditions and implement them in order to gain economic benefit in relation to a certain activity. In this way, an example is provided in the production of goods and services, in testing and analysis, in measurement and evaluation studies.

In general, standards are grouped into two groups: product standards and quality system standards. Product standards indicate that a good or service conforms to the specifications and conditions described in the relevant standard. Quality system standards define the quality management that an enterprise follows in order to ensure that the goods and services comply with the standards.

The Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) in our country and the International Standards Organization (ISO) in the world are the largest standards-setting organizations. However, as mentioned above, standards need to be updated in line with developments.

In this regard, SCIENCE Technical Documentation Inc. takes an active role in the creation of new standards on the one hand and the revision of existing standards on the other.

The aim of the standardization studies is to make the most of the workforce, materials, labor and other resources in the enterprises, to achieve a satisfactory quality level in the production of goods and services, and to protect the life and property safety of people and businesses. With this responsibility, SCIENCE supports standardization studies.
