Type approval, motor vehicles, trailers, two- or three-wheeled vehicles, wheeled agricultural or forestry tractors, parts, components or systems of these vehicles and certain technical units are in compliance with the relevant legal regulations issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and process.

In order to register any motor vehicle, trailer, motorcycle or tractor to the traffic, a certificate of conformity must be issued. In order for this document to be issued, these vehicles must have a vehicle type-approval certificate.

The Regulation on the Type Approval of Motor Vehicles and Trailers (2009 / 2007 / AT), issued by the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology in 46 in order to fulfill the obligation of complying with the road and traffic safety in terms of construction and use of vehicles, and all new vehicles covered by this regulation. In order to facilitate the registration, sales and service of the system, parts and separate technical units used in vehicles, it was issued with the aim of regulating the principles of type approval application. Many directives have been taken into account in the European Union countries (eg, 2015 / 758, 2015 / 166, 2015, 45, 1171, 2014, 540, 2014, 214, 2014, 136, 2014). In our country, all of the European Union directives have been harmonized and the related legal regulations have been put into force.

According to the regulation, the approval body shall be responsible for the type approval of a vehicle, system, component or separate technical unit or a single vehicle approval, conducting the authorization process, issuing approval documents, withdrawing them if necessary, assigning technical services and ensuring that the manufacturing companies fulfill their obligations. and the Ministry of Industry and Trade in our country.

The following legal regulations are taken as basis in the type approval procedures by the Ministry:

• Implementing Regulation on Wheeled Agricultural or Forestry Tractors Type Approval
• Implementing Regulation on the Type Approval of Two and Three Wheel Motor Vehicles

Type approval certificate is the certificate issued by the approval body according to these regulations. In order to obtain this certificate, it is necessary to report the conformity of the vehicle parts, system or separate technical unit by the technical services. Technical service, testing and evaluation studies for the purpose of the organization is authorized by the organization. This organization is today the Turkish Standards Institute.
