Periodical Control and Inspection of Chemical Tanks

Acid and chemical tanks are generally made of thermoplastic materials. In this context, acid and chemical storage and storage tanks, settling tanks, mixing tanks, dosing tanks and coating tanks are produced in line with the needs of the enterprises. Firms producing chemical tanks generally carry out their production based on the needs of the enterprises, the place where the tank will be used, the type of chemical substance and the required measurements and standards. Hydrostatic testing is essential for pressure vessels. These tests are carried out with 1,5 times the operating pressure and for periods not exceeding one year, unless otherwise specified in the standards. However, non-destructive testing methods specified in the standards may also be applied instead of hydrostatic testing in pressure vessels where hydrostatic testing is not possible due to the nature of the work equipment and the mandatory requirements arising from the operation. In this case, it shall be indicated in the periodic control reports to be issued together with the justification.

Periodic inspections of pressure vessels and installations, Pressure Equipment Regulations published in the Official Gazette dated 22 / 1 / 2007 and 26411, Portable Pressure Equipment Regulation published in the Official Gazette dated 31 / 12 and 2012 / 28514 / 30 and 12, published in the Official Gazette of the Simple Pressure Vessels Regulation, and without prejudice to the provisions of this Regulation without prejudice to the criteria specified in the relevant standards. Periodic inspections of pressure vessels and installations are carried out by mechanical engineers, technical teachers graduated from the department of mechanical or metal education, or machine technicians or technicians. If non-destructive testing methods are used in such periodic checks, these methods may only be applied by engineers, technical teachers, technicians or technicians trained in accordance with TS EN ISO 2006 standard.

As with all other pressure vessels and equipment, chemical tanks are required to be tested before they are delivered to the facility, or after installation in the facility, but before any use has been made, or after any changes, repairs or improvements have been made in the facility. controls. In fact, if these tanks have not been used for a long period of time, the necessary controls should be made when re-use is required.

In the meantime, the Regulation on Health and Safety Conditions in the Use of Work Equipment issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security describes safety criteria, inspection periods and relevant standards for all pressure vessels. Accordingly, chemical tanks must also be inspected and inspected at least once a year by authorized mechanical engineers, high technicians and machine technicians.

Hydrostatic tests, which are the basic principle in pressure vessels, also apply to chemical tanks. These tests are to be carried out with the 1,5 multiplied operating pressure, unless otherwise specified in the relevant standards. However, if the hydrostatic test cannot be carried out in mandatory conditions arising from the operation, non-destructive testing methods specified in the standards may be applied instead of hydrostatic testing in chemical tanks.

In the periodic controls of chemical tanks, the principles mentioned in the pressure equipment regulation, portable pressure equipment regulation and simple pressure vessels regulation are also complied with, with the exception of the aforementioned regulation.

Our company carries out periodic controls and inspections of chemical tanks within the framework of regular controls of pressure vessels in accordance with the relevant legal regulations and standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations.
