Ambient Radiation Tests

In general, it can find two types of radiation in the environment: irradiation or non-ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation is in the form of alpha and beta particles or in the form of X-rays and gamma rays. Non-ionizing radiation is usually in the form of waves such as radio waves, microwaves, infrared waves and visible light.

If one of the electrons of the atom is broken, the number of protons is higher and the atom gains an electric charge. In this way, the remaining atom ion, this event is called ionization. In the case of ionization, alpha-beta particles, gamma rays, neutron particles and radiations other than X-rays emerge from the atomic nucleus and are called nuclear radiation.

Radiation is caused by unstable atoms emitting energy as particles or waves. Radioactive contamination is the presence of self-radiating substance in an undesirable place. The human body keeps the alpha rays. Beta rays pass through the human body but can be held by an aluminum plate. Gamma and X-rays can be held with lead plate. All these rays and neutrons pass through the human body through aluminum or lead plates, which are held only by a concrete wall.

The radiation dose is the amount of radiation energy received or absorbed over a period of time. The effect of this radiation depends on the type of radiation, the radiated rate of radiation, and the duration of exposure to it. For this reason, measurement of the amount of radiation in the environment is very important for the protection of human health and the natural environment.

Our organization carries out radioactive exposure measurements with a strong staff and technical infrastructure, in accordance with the relevant legal regulations, standards and test methods published by domestic and foreign organizations. Here are a few standards that are taken into account in these studies:

  • TS EN ISO 2919 Radiation protection - Closed radioactive sources - General rules and classification
  • TS EN 62534 Radiation protection measuring devices - Very sensitive hand tools for the determination of the neutron
  • TS ISO 3999 Radiation protection - Device for industrial gamma radiography - Features for performance, design and testing
  • Radiation protection measuring devices - Detection and detection of radioactive material trafficking using spectroscopy-based portal tracers
  • TS EN 61005 Radiation protection equipment - Measures the equivalent of neutron media
